🌿 Every Painting has a story Held in Light Sometimes there are moments of beauty that simply cannot stay. A glimmer of light through a woodland after rain. A raindrop delicately held by the light, creating a miniature world all of its own. This painting isn’t of a specific place, but of a feeling. It’s the fleeting glimmer of something ordinary, revealed by the light that allows us to notice the beauty that is already there. Moments of Noticing 🌿 It’s easy to miss the smallest things when we are rushing through life. I almost walked straight past this! Nestled against the rock, catching the water seeping through the landscape, was this tiny world of delicate greens and glistening textures. When I was nine years old, I painted this landscape. Looking at it now, I smile because although my styles have changed over the last thirty five years, what I was drawn to hasn’t. Even then, I was fascinated by trees, landscapes and the quiet beauty of the natural world. I recall that nature was always a place where I felt calm, curious and connected. Looking back, I can see that this painting was the start of a lifelong journey. Nearly four decades later, I’m still painting nature. Still noticing. Still learning. Still remembering.
